Kennels vary, but in a "traditional" kennel, your dog is usually left in a cage most of the day and may be let out briefly or placed in an outdoor run a couple of times a day. The dogs usually do not interact with other dogs. Some kennels will offer 15-minute play times with a staff member for an extra charge. It is important to know that Camp K-9 offers all-day play for no additional cost. The dogs are with a playgroup all day long and with staff which is included with your sleepover. How do you justify your prices? At Camp k-9 we offer a free day of camp to all of our overnight campers. After a full day of playing with their friends your pup will be more than ready to turn in for the night. Your dog not only gets playtime all day, but our playgroups are staffed all day to give your dog the attention it deserves. What should I bring for my dog ? Bring your dogs food and favorite snack. We recommend bringing something comforting (favorite blanket or toy) from home to allow your dog to feel as comfortable as possible What vaccinations are required? All dogs must be up to date on their rabies, bordetella and distemper vaccines Why does my dog have to be spayed or neutered? The main reason is that intact dogs are at greater risk of injury from other dogs. In a social environment, intact males are often viewed as threats by other dominant dogs. Intact females, whether in heat or not, may be picked on by other female dogs and male dogs will view her as an intact female and treat her as such. Will there be anyone there overnight? There will not be an associate there over night. Your camper will be more than safe and comfortable until morning in their cabin. We also offer web cam access so you can view your little one as they sleep. |
